Looking for Alaska - John Green 4.5 stars This year has been a first for me with so many authors; Elizabeth Scott, Melina Marchetta, Markus Zusak and now John Green. What can I say about Looking for Alaska that hasn’t already been said? It had everything that makes me love a book so much that you can’t stop thinking about it for days afterwards. It made me laugh out loud, cry, it was full of mystery and intrigue and just kept me hooked throughout. The characters were likeable and I found I could easily relate to them; Miles going from being a nobody to finally making friends at Culver Creek. I especially liked Colonel, he was such a funny character , I enjoyed the pranks Colonel, Miles, Takumi and Alaska got up to and how they always had each others backs covered. Green’s writing was remarkable; he made it so easy to get into the story. I liked the way he set out the story with each chapters title counting down in days to the event. I very nearly skipped ahead several times to find out what this event was. I’m really glad to have come across John Green, as I thoroughly enjoyed Looking for Alaska. I would recommend everyone who hasn’t already to read this book.
